Transpersonal Psychology

Transpersonal psychology is a different paradigm that is rather new to the psychology world while still being old as humankind.  This healing format includes and honors one's spiritual path as a direct link to understanding emotional and psychological conditions such as compulsions, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Sometimes called the "Fourth Force of Western Psychology," transpersonal practices draw from many ancient world views as well as current medical research.  In this aspect, transpersonal psychology is quite holistic. Physical health and well-being are seen to play an integral role in one's state of consciousness.

The concept of consciousness is a key factor in the transpersonal approach to psychological health. Our everyday level of consciousness  contains perceptions and self-talk that often distorts over time.  Growth  and healing are achieved when these distortions are removed using, traditional counseling techniques integrated with creativity and meditation.

Transpersonal therapy uses other states of consciousness such as dreaming, deep relaxation, and the "open zone" of creativity to gather wisdom.  Many of us stay attached to  our suffering on some level.  It begins to define us and limits our development.  Yet, when we release to our inner wisdom, we clear negative energy and move toward good health and a deeper relationship with the Divine.

"If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is- infinite."

"to see a  world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of one's hand, and eternity in an hour."
